The BRIGHT Run is thrilled to have LiUNA, the Labourers’ International Union of North America, on board this year as presenting sponsor for our 12th annual event.

“We’re very excited to welcome LiUNA as a community partner and our presenting sponsor,” said event chair Nancy McMillan. “LiUNA’s strong community involvement and support for healthcare are a good match for the BRIGHT Run’s goals.”

The Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) represents more than 130,000 members across Canada who work in various sectors building roads and bridges, transit infrastructure, tunnels and high-rises, energy sector, industrial, healthcare and many more. More than 6,000 of these men and women are members of LiUNA Local 837 in the Greater Hamilton/Niagara/Brantford area.

Joseph S. Mancinelli, LiUNA International Vice President and Regional Manager, said the union is proud to join the BRIGHT Run in its efforts to fund breast cancer research.

“Throughout our communities and families, we each know someone who has experienced a personal journey with breast cancer, whether a family member, friend or colleague,” he said.

“The health and safety of LiUNA Members, their families and the wellness of our community members remains our priority,” he continued. “LiUNA is honoured to be presenting sponsor of this year’s BRIGHT Run and play a small role in breast cncer awareness and research. “

“We are proud to stand with and support all the women and men on their journey to recovery, and to honour our loved ones who we have lost,” he said.

LiUNA is a strong proponent of community building and supporting charitable causes throughout Canada and around the world.
