Volunteers have been the backbone of the BRIGHT Run since the first event in 2008.
Volunteers do the organizing. They put up the tents, haul the tables, hand out T-shirts, and do many other things to make sure everything is in place to make event day spectacular.
Two years of COVID drastically reduced the need for BRIGHT volunteers. But now that we’re back in person, we need you more than ever!
Before we even get to event day on Sept. 10, this year’s need for volunteers in high, especially in August.
BRIGHT will be at both the Dundas Cactus Festival (Aug. 19 to Aug. 21) and the Winona Peach Festival (Aug. 26 to Aug. 28), and we need folks to help spread the word to festival goers who stop by our penny sale tent.
As well, the opportunity for lobby sales has opened up at the Juravinski Cancer Centre and there are volunteer opportunities on Aug. 11, Aug. 17, Sept. 1 and Sept. 6.
And of course, we can’t wait to see your smiling faces on Sept. 10 as we pink up Dundas Valley Conservation Area!
Note to secondary school students – volunteering with BRIGHT is a great way to build your community service hours. And you’ll have lots of fun!
