Without community partners, there is no BRIGHT Run.
It’s our community partners who pay the freight, so to speak. They cover expenses, such as the venue, advertising and much more. They also provide in-kind donations – think portable washrooms, hundreds of pink balloons, bottled water, snacks.
Without our community partners, BRIGHT would not be able to guarantee that every dollar raised by our participants goes directly to breast cancer research in Hamilton.
The BRIGHT Run founders established that policy as they planned the first event in 2008. BRIGHT has never wavered from that commitment and never will.
So, we count on the generosity of our partners to make each BRIGHT Run event special and spectacular. And our community partners come through year after year.
For example, Paul Bresnahan – TD Wealth Management has supported BRIGHT with financial backing for 15 years. Why? Here’s what Paul has to say:

Local 837 of the Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) has been our presenting sponsor for five years. The organization represents workers in sectors including: construction, waste management, service, healthcare, manufacturing and building supply.
LiUNA supports many local causes. Here’s why LiUNA chose to support BRIGHT Run:
“LiUNA is committed to community building and community advocacy, including philanthropic works for deserving causes, such as the Juravinski Cancer Centre’s BRIGHT Run. Breast cancer has taken far too many far too soon, but through efforts such as these, survivors are increasing and our hope remains that one day breast cancer will be cured.”
