BRIGHT Run ambassadors Laura Fortino and Sarah Nurse are on the ice this week as part of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) OHL Showcase. Four teams are playing games in Peterborough, Barrie, Niagara and Kitchener.
One of the games will see Laura and Sarah, both Olympic gold medalists, facing off against each other!
On Friday Feb. 10, Sarah’s Team Adidas will take on Team Sonnet at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines at 7 pm. Tickets start at $20.
Also on Friday, Laura’s Team Harvey’s will play Team Scotiabank at 11 am at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Then on Saturday, Feb. 11, Team Adidas and Team Harvey’s meet at Sadlon Arena in Barrie.

The OHL Showcase is part of the PWHPA’s larger Secret Dreams Gap Tour, which will see some of the best women hockey players in the world participate in games in centres in Canada and the United States.
The PWHPA is a non-profit organization that advocates for the promotion of professional women’s hockey. It was founded in May 2019 with the goal of creating a sustainable professional hockey league for women in North America.
