Register for Bright Run

The 17th annual BRIGHT Run is less than a week away and we can’t wait to see your smiling faces at Christie Lake Conservation Area, 1000 Highway 5 West, Dundas!

But first, get in the BRIGHT mood on Friday, September 6 by joining a bunch of BRIGHT folks in front of Hamilton City Hall, 71 Main Street West, where the Hamilton sign will be glowing pink to mark BRIGHT Run 2024! We’re gathering at 8 p.m. and we’d love to see you there!

If you haven’t registered, it’s not too late!

Now’s the time for a good BRIGHT push on your fundraising and setting meet-up plans with teammates, family and friends. Let’s hit that $417,000 goal together!

Skip the event-day lineups by picking up your T-shirt early on Thursday, September 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kintec Footwear, 1024 Upper Wentworth Street, across from CF Lime Ridge Mall. Individuals and teams can pick up their T-shirts – and drop off completed pledge forms with cash and/or cheques.

FIVE FAST FACTS

  1. CASH is your best friend. For buying food, for donating, for participating in contests.
  1. ONLY bring what you can carry. There are no lockers.
  1. PROTECT yourself and your stuff – sunscreen, bug spray, resealable plastic bags and rain gear should be in your backpack.
  1. SAFETY is good for all of us.
  1. FUN is the goal. Stay a while and enjoy nature.

SAFETY FIRST

To ensure everyone has a fun day, please follow all safety protocols as outlined by the Hamilton Conservation Authority.

Be considerate of others during your walk, run or stroll. KEEP RIGHT

First-aid responders (healthcare professionals) will be positioned along the trails, as well as at the first-aid area. First-aid responders will be wearing blue volunteer T-shirts and carrying a black or blue backpack with the red first aid logo.

Please bring:

  • Rain gear, regardless of the forecast, just in case. Also bring resealable plastic bags to protect your electronic devices.
  • Hat, bug spray, sunscreen and a water bottle, all in a backpack or easy-to-carry bag that will also have room for stuff you buy on site.
  • Cash, as well as debit/credit cards. You’ll want to buy some food, pink merch, penny sale and raffle tickets. And you might luck out with the highest bid on some silent auction items or the closest BOOB CUBE guess.
  • Wagon or stroller for young children. Short legs tire quickly. Medical mobility devices are also welcome.
  • Well-behaved, leashed dog, along with some poop bags, just in case!

Leave at home:

  • Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards or scooters. We want to keep our runners and walkers safe.
  • Feather boas and latex balloons. Neither are friendly to the conservation area’s natural environment.

Parking:

  • There is ample parking on site. Attendants are there to guide you in.
  • Accessible parking is available for those with an Ontario Disability permit. Golf carts will be available to get you to the event site.

When you arrive:

  • Check in at the registration area to register OR if you are already registered and just need your t-shirt, head to the T-shirt pick-up area.
  • Drop off pledge forms and cash/cheque donations at the T-shirt pickup area
  • Pick up a morning coffee, a cookie or donut compliments of Café Domestique of Dundas and Voortman Bakery of Burlington.
  • Look for the penny sale and raffle ticket, exhibits, KIDZ ZONE, silent auction, pink gear tents and the Wall of Hope.
  • While you’re exploring, keep an eye out for treats at our Donate for Donuts boxes, which will be at various locations thanks to our friends at Metro.
  • Get a photo at the SmartBooth, team photo area and the Fido Foto Frame. Remember to tag us:  @brightrunhamilton and #BRIGHTRUN
