New Community Partner Loves the Sense of Community

“It oozed community and hope.”

That’s how Sherry Weavers describes BRIGHT Run 2024.

“The people, the energy, the joy, the community, the organization – the event was just beautiful,” said Sherry, whose company, Three Little Birds Residential Cleaning https://3littlebirds.ca/, joined BRIGHT Run 2024 as a silver community partner.

“Our team will be back next year, bigger and better,” she said. “BRIGHT Run is our pet charity going forward. We will be fundraising all year round.”

Sherry, a mom of three, is a two-time breast cancer survivor. Her first diagnosis was in 2011 and she had a lumpectomy followed by radiation therapy. Then in 2016, a new lump resulted in a double mastectomy followed by reconstruction

“It was very intense,” she said. “There were complications and infections. But now I’m on a mission!”

Sherry started her business after her first diagnosis, deciding she wanted to be involved with something that fit her core values of HEART: honesty, excellence, accountability, reliability and togetherness.

“Cleaning seemed like a fit,” she said. “I used my month of radiation to learn about cleaning and sharing information. Because of my cancer, I decided we need to clean naturally. I joined a forum on how to run a business, how to be professional. I found my people.”

As the company grew, Sherry and her employees became more involved in the community, seeking ways to help that aligned with her core values.

Her road to BRIGHT was a bit long and winding. She’s not sure how she didn’t know about BRIGHT because, for years, BRIGHT volunteer and participant Lisa Rudd-Scott was a fellow soccer mom.

“I had heard about BRIGHT Run in passing, but I didn’t really know much about it,” she said. “Early in 2024, I reached out to Lisa to ask about BRIGHT Run.”

Sherry thought the BRIGHT community would be a good fit for her and her company.

There is beauty in people coming together in a common cause, Sherry believes, and she sees that beauty in BRIGHT Run.

“There’s a magic in BRIGHT Run,” she said. “It is awesome.”
