Our event day co-ordinators, David Balsdon and Kathie Ward, want to give you a preview of what to expect on Sept. 10 at Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
We’ll have more details for you next month, but here are the highlights:
9 a.m. – Shuttle buses begin from parking lots at Sir William Osler Elementary School and Dundas Valley Secondary School
- Registration/ check in. Pick up your t-shirt if you haven’t already at the t-shirt pick prior to the event. Drop off pledge sheets along with cash and cheques
- Enjoy a morning beverage compliments of Café Domestique of Dundas
- Pink gear tent opens, with pink accessories for purchase – bring your cash, credit or debit!
- Silent auction opens
9:30 – Children’s tent opens. Enjoy a range of fun activities and a surprise visit from hockey Olympians
9:45 – Entertainment by Craig Murray of Kickin’ Strings begins
10:00 – Opening ceremonies, hosted by Sunni Genesco of BOUNCE 102.9. Guests include Dr. Mark Levine and Dr. Ashirbani Saha
10:30 – Ribbon cutting – off you go!!
11:30 – Upon returning from your walk/run/stroll, enjoy a BBQ from Big Smoke. You can pay by cash, credit or debit.
12:00 – Closing ceremonies hosted by Annette Hamm of CH Morning Live. We’ll have the cheque presentation, along with volunteer recognition and the announcement of the top fundraisers in the youth, team, survivor and participant categories.
Following the closing ceremonies, feel free to stay and enjoy the BBQ.
