There’s a new and exciting twist on team fundraisiing this year from BRIGHT Run’s long-time partner, Monica Graves of glamjulz.
Monica is getting together with team captains to create special team-themed bracelets, as well as guiding the teams in attracting orders for their unique jewelry pieces.
And there’s still time to work with Monica on this fundraiser before event day!
“We love giving back,” Monica said. “It’s our mission to design beautiful pieces of glamjulz that will raise funds for important causes.”
Monica has been involved with BRIGHT Run for more than 10-years, providing our unique team captains’ bracelets. This year, BRIGHT’S registration, fundraising, and teams committee decided to try something new.
It seems to be a hit! Three teams have already launched their bracelets and at least five more showed intense interest at last month’s launch party.
Lisa Balsdon and Michele Cardoso, of BRIGHT team Linear Accelerators, for example, worked with Monica to create a bracelet that focused on their work as radiation specialists.
“It’s a fun way to get together and create something meaningful,” Lisa said. “The bracelet resonates with people. I would do it another year.”
Cousins Mark Calcagni and Donna Stampone, both of BRIGHT team In It Together, worked with Monica to create two bracelets, one to commemorate each of their mothers who died of breast cancer.
“Monica was great to work with,” Mark said. “The bracelets turned out great and we were even able to get a male and female version made.”
“It was a great experience,” Donna said. “Monica was excellent at pulling out items that were important to us and could be included in our bracelets to honour our moms.”
Here’s how it works:
1) Meet with Monica Graves (in person, Zoom or even a phone call works) to share your personal story and design ideas.
2) Approve a bracelet design that Monica will design, unique to your story.
3) Share your story on social media and take orders for the bracelet. Monica will help by writing your story if needed, showing you how to post and providing a high-resolution image of the bracelet.
4) Collect your orders, send them to Monica and pick up your bracelets from Monica or have them shipped to your home.
5) You pay nothing until you have collected your order. The proceeds of each bracelet (roughly $17 to $25 per bracelet, depending on the design) goes directly to your team.
6) Each team captain receives a complimentary bracelet for themselves as a thank you gift from glamjulz.
