Register for Bright Run

Dr. Ashirbani Saha writes about her wonderful experience at the 17th BRIGHT Run, reflecting on the warmth and sense of community she felt on event day.

Hello BRIGHT Run Family,

Happy October!

It was a pleasure to meet you at the 17th BRIGHT Run. I enjoyed being there. My husband Dib and I feel truly fortunate to be a part of the event. We look forward to being part of BRIGHT Run every year.

This year was BRIGHT Run’s second at Christie Lake Conservation Area. The area had lush green, a beautiful lake, a bright firmament with intermittent clouds, and of course, the BRIGHT Run family. It was great to see many more teams, participants, and all the enthusiasm we shared.

It rained a little bit. I walked with my husband and friends and met many of my colleagues. I had enriching conversations with some of them. I also talked to survivor participants and learned about their fight against breast cancer. I also met several volunteers performing various duties and helping to run different components of the event gracefully.

What stood out to me is the indomitable spirit of the BRIGHT Run family and their enormous and increasing support for breast cancer research. It was great to see the fundraising goal exceeded by the best margin so far. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the executive committee members, founding members, participants, volunteers, community partners, and all supporters of BRIGHT Run. Thank you all for your tremendous support for research and excellence!

Best,

Ashirbani
