The electrical wattage was at an all-time high at Christie Lake on Sept 6. The smiles, laughter, hugs, cheers, and true sense of community overtook the entire park, right from the parking lots to the 2.5km turnaround and all points in between.
I was delighted, as were many current and former patients, to see so many Juravinski Cancer Centre oncologists, nurses, and supportive medical practitioners on event day, more than I can ever remember from past events.
So many researchers and recipients of BRIGHT Run funds walked with us to show their support and gratitude. To mention but a few: Drs. Levine, Dhesy, Daniel, Whelan, Donovan, Eisen, Houlahan and Saha.
It is always such an honour to stand on stage and look into the faces of all ages and stages and know that together, we are making such an enormous difference.
