BRIGHT Run’s Team ATAC (Ancaster Teens Against Cancer) made an early “attack” on its 2024 fundraising goals last month through a craft sale in the Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC) lobby, as well as making their work available online.
Not only did Team ATAC’s crew raise $910 in December, they also provided a great distraction for people as they browsed for last-minute holiday gifts!
Team ATAC was formed in 2021 by a group of teen boys to run the BRIGHT Run 5km route in honour of one of their moms who had just been diagnosed. 2024 will be this team’s 4th year in BRIGHT.
Team captain Justin was happy that members of his family were available to staff the JCC craft tables, where shoppers had a huge range of choices. The sale made some spirits BRIGHT, as well as providing 2024 event information.
“I’m thankful that my nana, mom and sister donate their time and talent, crafting fundraising items for the BRIGHT Run” Justin said. “It allows me to focus on volunteering and running.”
Way to go, Team ATAC!
